This is amazing Darryl! I literally could not stop reading it, the combination of stark images and the conversational tone is perfect. My mom is schizophrenic and I will turn off the TV whenever someone uses the word schizophrenic to mean multiple personality disorder. It drives me crazy.
My name is Cecilio, as you can see, and I'm from Spain. I've just read the comic and I've liked it very much, as you make this sickness nearer to us, without prejudices.
Would you be interested in a Spanish translation? It'd be fine to expand these ideas also in Hispano web.
I love your work. I just wish I could say I love all of it. If you really want to spread the good word about mental health, I suggest checking out the Icarus Project. You're on to a good start, but a lot of the ways that you address these issues can be offensive to some people (such as here where you say people with schizophrenia are better off drugged than not). Just an example. Hope you at least find the Icarus Project interesting!
Hi! I do not suffer from schizophrenia, but I do have a mental illness, so I know how people sometimes take a step back when you tell them. It's great to see someone taking a different path to enlighten the general public. Thanks
British Artist Darryl Cunningham is a prolific cartoonist. His book Psychiatric Tales is out now from Blank Slate in the UK, and from Bloomsbury in the US. He's currently working on Uncle Bob Adventures, also for Blank Slate, and Science Tales for Myriad Editions. Read all about me in this interview.

I take that as a great compliment from an artist as good as you, Eric. Cheers!
great, like always - and thanks for share with us art and knowledge, Darryl.
I enjoy both of them!
Good night!

This is such a good idea- I never would have thought of using comic strips as a medium to educate others about mental illness.
